Maria began her ASL career in 2000 after attending the Cincinnati State Interpreter Training Program. In 2003, she became a nationally certified interpreter. Maria has extensive experience interpreting in a variety of venues including medical, Deaf/blind, educational, work-related, religious, substance abuse, and many other arenas. In 2002, Maria launched a new service in the Cincinnati area called C-Print® (spoken word-to-text captioning), which is known throughout the United States as a highly effective note-taking and transcription option for colleges, schools and businesses. Along with providing captioning herself, Maria recruited, trained, and mentored most of the captionists in our area. She has consulted with other cities and states to help them set up C-Print® services in their locales. Maria resides in Hamilton with her husband, Jeff.
